I understand Dr. Mario is the same as mario but why Roy and Mewtwo. I really hope nintendo comes out with an expansion pack you can buy online or at the store.|||No one knows why they took them off. Here are incorrect reasons:
1. "They didn't star in many games." The Ice Climbers and Ness didn't, either, yet they were still there.
2. "They were bad/unpopular." No, Roy was awesome.
3. "They were all clones of characters." No, Fox has a 3rd clone and Mewtwo didn't have a clone.
4. "They couldn't come up with Final Smashes." Well, yeah, that's possible, but I've seen very original Final Smashes on SSBB.
5. "They were too much on higher or lower ends." I actually think that some characters on SSBB are more powerful than others.
I don't know why.|||Ike is basically the fire swordsman that takes Roy's place since Roy's GBA game never came to the states
Lucario is the same as Mewtwo pretty much.
Toon Link (Wind Waker) is the same as Young Link|||who cares they have new and better people i cant wait for it|||they took off mew two for lucario but i dont know why they took off roy|||Roy's game isn't the newest game in the Fire Emblem franchise anymore. Ike is the hero of Radiant Dawn and Marth's game is getting rereleased for the DS, so Nintendo is doing a little subtle advertising here. Mewtwo isn't really a prominent Pokemon villain anymore. Young Link isn't relevant to the Zelda series anymore either.|||It is probably because the producer of the super smash bros wanted to "excite" people by replacing the old characters for new ones that people never expected. You have to realize that melee was out for a very long time and there was a slight chance that all the characters were going to stay on the new roster in super smash bros brawl. I really miss young link though. He was one of my favorite.
