On mario kart wii you have the option to have up to 2 players playing online on the same console, is this the the same situation on brawl?

personal experience haha =p|||It is only one person that can play online. However, that shouldn't matter much anyway. The online is terrible so it's almost like not having one at all.|||I think it is only 1 person on brawl, not entirely sure though.
